what a fun and very simple quilt this was! i combined two fabrics, a solid and a print, using alternating stripes to transition from one to another.
since the piecing was so simple, i decided to try something a little more complex on the quilting: leaves! my leaves started out pretty shaky but they got better as i went along. i used a thrifted 100% cotton polo ralph lauren sheet for the back, and folded the back over for the binding. this was the first time i tried that. i added a decorative leafy stitch to the binding!
this one is for my plant lady colleague that just got married.
This is so pretty! It's really striking. Love your leaf quilting and also the detail on the binding.
