Road to Oklahoma

Being from Oklahoma, I have always wanted to make a Road to Oklahoma quilt. So I did what I do, which is to play with scale and color, and made this incredibly bright large-size RTO block-based quilt!

The light pink squares are naturally dyed using cochineal.

I used some big stitch quilting to accent the stars.

The back is a thrifted sheet that I ice dyed using procion dye.

Sent it to my friend EmyK!

Used lots of kaffe and Anna Maria Horner prints in this one which contributed to the overall bold and floral vibe.

This quilt went together very quickly (like 3 weeks!) and was a joy to work on. One of my favorites that I’ve made.
